Help. Horrible Vibration from engine over 2000 rpms.
My engine/car is vibrating horribly. It begins to vibrate through your whole body at 2000 rpms and by 3000 rpms it's hard to stand anymore. The vibration goes away under load (possibly beacuse of lower RPMS) it is really noticeable at idle, 1st gear, and 2nd gear...in 3rd and 4th it is barely there. If I slip the clutch it goes away and sometimes will even stay away for a short time if I release the clutch after the slip.
The engine is a crate 350, performer manifold, Holley carb, hooker headers, stock Fuel Pump and stock balancer.
Long story short, the car/engine hasn't been run very long. It had a few spouts where we let it idle for 10 minutes or so after we changed the intake. It ran very well for about 3 miles then on the drive home it began this vibration. During the intake swap some coolant (only about 20% antifreeze) leaked into the engine. We ran it for a bit and then changed the oil. We do have some white foam on the insides of the valve covers but that isn't unormal considering water was dropped into the oil.
Here is my list of possiblities
Spun bearing? (never had one, had my share of rod knocks though)
Flywheel/clutch assembly out-of-balance
Harmonic balancer trashed
Motor mount/tranny mount
It does this either with the clutch pushed in or out of gear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am now very very very frustrated with this car.
Thanks.

it could be a cylinder or two not firing, have you checked the ignition? how do you know your cars are WS6 equiped?are they rare?
All cylinders are firing. Exhaust is not rich nor lean. Damn near perfect for a carb.
How do I know they are WS6 equipped? Besides for being inside and out of both, I have both RPO codes and the original buildsheet for the T-top car. Not exactly rare, not that rarity has much to do with anything.

Thanks for the help. I found the problem. Simple and easy enough...the fan nuts had worked loose I must of only had them hand-tight then the fan went crooked thus WAY out of balance. I think my new waterpump is going to need a replacement soon now.

I'm glad you could find the problem.do your cars have the WS6 emblems like the newer ones? I'm just curious because I have an '84 myself and it seems to be built fairly solid, but I don't know much about it other than it has 3.73 gears and a 305HO,700r4
