350 casting info plz

i got a 350 from a junkyard today. it was supposed to be a roller block(87+) but i cant
decide what it is. it had flat lifters, and 1pc rear seal. the numbers on the back of the block are 10054727.

TIA,
RS

10054727...350...86-up...2 or 4...one piece rear seal, some "Made in Canada"

so i guess this is not a roller block. oh well.

Does it have the threaded bosses for the lifter "spyder" and a machined surface along the lifter valley?? (on both sides where the lifters poke through)

I can't guarantee this statement is 100% accurate, but from what I hear, all one piece rear seal blocks are supposed to have the provisions for a factory roller cam setup. You probably got a truck 350 block. I heard a lot of those came with standard flat tappet cams, but like I said, it should have the provisions for a roller cam. The bosses may have to be drilled and tapped if they're not already, and you'll need to buy the cam thrust plate that bolts to the front of your block from GM. You can probably find all the roller parts you need pretty cheap in the classifieds here. A lot of guys have extra parts just laying around for them.

Thanks.

Pat Hall:

Yep, I have one of those 86 truck blocks that is a roller block thats not roller. Mine is drilled, tapped, and machined everywhere it needs to be. Just no roller cam.
