Help!, got an HEAVILY modded 87IROC , need advice!

I just bought this guys 87IROC from him today. Here is his webpage of everything that is done to the iroc. www.geocities.com/leeson.rm

i need some help on getting it running properly and also some general questions about TPI answered.
The car run very well considering it has the stock 305TPI 5speed chip STILL installed.
I know a custom one is needed.
Well the car runs good. But after running it seems to just die. I get codes 33 and 34, about the spark timing curves and what not. I know that has to be due to the chip being the stock one. So once i can get a custom one made that should fix that right?

Also, the orignal TPI unit came with the cold start injector. Now that this one has the SuperRam injection on it the previous owner never put a cold start injector on it therefore it doesn't really seem to run very good while its cold. Now my question is do i need to put one on it or can i deprogram that from the system?

Wow.. that looks like a pretty nice iroc. Why would someone do all that work and not at least put a stock 350 chip in the car? I hope someone will help you with your problems. You might want to talk to a speed shop that specializes in tpi work. There is one down here in san diego. I don't know if there is one near you, but they might be able to give you some free advice.

Leirch,

For simultaneous codes 33 & 34 check the MAF power and burnoff control relays. A failing power relay would be my guess, or a bad connection at the MAF sensor itself.

That's what i was thinking vader...But getting rid of that 305 chip wouldn't be a bad idea.

89 IROC-Z 350 TPI

-Flowmaster Catback
-Performance Resource Chip
-700R4 (Rebuilt) Too much done to actually list
-K&N Airfilters
-Ported Plenum
-2.77 Gears (not much to brag about but eh, its there)
-MSD 8.5 mm plug wires
-Problems every other day with the car (probably not a mod, but to me it sure makes a difference)
