air sensor question
I'm needing to replace my air sensor on a 85 Iroc TPI. The current air sensor in it is a Bosh. Pulled the computer out the other day to swap a chip, and saw that there was a Bosh box bolted to the top of the computer. Did all 85's come factory equipped w/ that, or is it an add on from one of the previous owners? I'd really like to go with a less expensive air sensor @ $160 (replacing the Bosh is almost $600). Where can I find info on removing the box from the computer? Rewiring schematics? Is this possible or am I stuck with the more expensive sensor? Any info on this from you guys would be a great help!!!!! Thanks a bunch in advance!!!!! Senior Member

I replaced my MAF sensor, in my 89 Formula 350 TPI, with one from Autozone. I believe it was around $200. It's been working fine ever since.
