new intake and EGR question

I was wondering if my 83 TA will run funky if I install an Edelbrock performer without EGR? I don`t even know if it`s working now on the stock manifold. Just curious.

Pinging will be the most likely undesireable effect. If we're talking an LG4, the compression is low enough that it probably won't be a problem.

Assuming you're still running the computer, you'll need to keep the EGR solenoid in there to avoid a constant SES light.

Thank you and yes, it`s a stock LG4. I plan on using the stock carb and all, I just got a good deal on a used performer and thought I`d better ask!

Actually, I don't think the carb ECM is smart enough to check for the presence of the solenoid. It's pretty crude.
