roller cam to non roller. Pushrod length!?

Ok, I have a 350 engine, (not sure the year) with a hydraulic roller cam, and I am about to put a non roller hydraulic cam and lifter set. I am told that I'll need to get different length pushrods?

What length pushrods for a non roller hydraulic cam in a 350 small block? Is it the same size no matter what the year? or do I just need to just take this thing to a machine shop and have them meausure out everything?

thanks!

differant length. if you're running larger than stock cam lift you may need longer push rods than stock. just ask for push rods for a pre 87 350 or buy a length checker and check the length. you're run of the mill machine shop won't be able to check it for you, maybe a preformance engine shop

So, being hydraulic non roller, and pre-87 pushrod length should work? the camshaft will be a Melling MTC-1 with 1.6 roller rockers and springs (already in the engine and working fine.)

how easy is it to check the length of the rods? and, will it be obvious that the rods dont' fit if we have the wrong size? or will it be something that won't be noticed untill the engine is running?
