Chrome Moly GM Pushrods?
Chrome Moly GM Pushrods?
Does GM offer Chrome moly pushrods for roller motors? If so what is the part #? I hate to spend the 109.99 with Jegs or Summit. What can I say I am a bargain hunter. Thanks, Brandon
Bran,
P/N 10046173 (push rod set) has a heavy wall, low-chrome/steel alloy (1018) case hardened for use with or without guide plates on roller cammed engines. They have a heavier wall than production rods and are subsequently a bit heavier. They'll set you back about $25.00. These should handle most aftermarket cams in street engines.
You can probably do better on overall weight for a high RPM engine with 4140 alloy rods, but they'll cost you upwards of $150.00 from the big cam houses.
