I hate my fuel system!!!
ARG!! My fuel system is being a PITA right now. The car is an 82 z-28, originally a CFI, it has been converted to a carb'd 355. one of the previous owners i think was building it for a race setup. However, they also changed the fuel system (i think) and now it doesnt want to work. When i turn the engine on, the pump does not do that 2 second priming like it's supposed to. so i did some searching and came accross the conclusion that its either the relay or the fuse. so i go under the hood and look for the fuse. i look where Vader's pic shows and i see no such fuse holder. the ONLY thing thats over there is some rust and a dead spider. so then i went off following Vader's pic again, hoewver, that corner is empty as well!! theres only the 2 mounting bolt holes. all 3 relays have been removed. the only thing thats over there is this little canister thing (i will post a pic of this "canister" as soon as i resize it and reformat it.). so then i tried running power directly to the "G" terminal on the ALDL, but that didnt work either. what the heck do i do? i am seriously 2 seconds from ordering a whole new fuel delivery system.

Here is that canister thing i described in my post above. ive labeled it.....yea. what the heck is this?
The thing in the picture is your windshield washer squirter pump. The fuses for the ECM and fuel pump are (if I recall right) on the fuse panel inside the car under the dash, driver side footwell.
I ditched my CFI for TPI years ago so I'm kinda rusty on the details, hope this helps.
If the fuses check out, whip out your test light or voltmeter and verify the pump is getting 12VDC when a buddy turns the key to RUN position. There's a 3-pin weatherpak connector near the fuel tank, driver's side, under the car. One of the pins is voltage, one's ground, the other's the fuel gauge...one of them should have 12VDC on it when the key is turned to RUN, or somebody cranks it.

you forgot a KEY part.
it WAS a fuel injected car.. and the previous owner MODDED it FOR a CARB.
if you still have a in tank pump, go back to where it is and trace it forward from there..... good luck.
he may have left it a lil easier for you and have a external pump mounted back there somwhere.....
