setting up a horn

when i first bought my car it had a GT grant steering wheel on it that didn't work. when i took off the steering wheel center there was a tan disk in there, but nothing else. when i looked at someone else's wheel center, there was a wire coming up through the wheel to connect to that disk. how come i dont' have a wire? where does it run to? how would i attach it?

that "disc" has a cyl. shaped peice that sticks out(looks like a hole). the wire you are refering to is connected there (has a specal end that locks in with a 1/4-1/2 turn) the other wire end goes to a switch (horn button) which grounds it when pressed causing the horn to activate

The wire you are refering to must be, like 88 TPI 350 formula said, the wire that conects the horn button with the copper-like round disk.
This copper disk, what does is touches all the time the positive terminal of the horn circuit, and then trough that disk that turns with the steering wheel, should have a small piece of plastic with a hole inside to fit this cable you are missing. This cable has one end with a small spring and a fitting for this plastic part. on the other side, just should have a connector for the horn button, so whe you push the button, the positive terminal goes through the disk, to the cable, to the button, and then grounds through the metal on the sides of the button.
