roller lifters

roller lifters

is it a good idea to use used hyd roller lifters? i have an 87 truck block that i want to put a roller cam in and need roller lifters but new ones are expensive.

It's fine as long as they're not galled, gashed, stuck (but that can be fixed), or have a flat spot on the roller.

What I've done is pulled each one apart, cleaned them out, then threw them back together.

Worked fine.

Is'nt that year of block already capable of using factory lifters? You can get new factory lifters from ebay for less than $80 pretty much any day, all day.
