AC delete serpentine belt

I recently removed my Smog pump on my 89' Vin E 5.0l TBI. The bearing in my AC compressor is gone, and until I replace it, I was wanting to reroute the serpentine belt so that it does not go around the AC compressor pulley. Has anybody done this conversion, or is there a shorter belt that was installed on third gens that did not have factory AC? If so, would this belt be too long, since my smog pump is removed?

I do believe I had a 86.5'' belt on mine. I ran the belt in the stock routing but ran it overtop of the tensioner. I had it like that for the better part of 2 years with 0 problems.

Best thing to do is get a string and route it the way the belt would go...then measure it. Mid as well buy the 3 closest sizes to your measurements so you dont have to run back and forth to the parts store.

If you remove the pass side bracket completely you can run a 50'' belt like I did. Ill try to get a picture so I can show you what I did.,
