BSwede,

Welcome aboard! And Season's Greetings to the land. I live in a town that was originally a Swedish/American settlement, so there is still a lot of the scandinavian influence in the area. There are probably more Volvos per capita around here than in most of the rest of the world. Lots of Norskes, too!

If you have a casting number (located in the rocker area under the cover) you can check the specifications at www.Mortec.com.

As I recall, the older 305 heads are nothing to get excited over, but can be ported with some success. I'll guess that the stock heads would flow less than 180 SCFM peak, even with the larger 1.84 valves.

The L69 heads are identical to the LG4 heads for 1984. 1.84 intake, 1.50 exhaust. You'll find that the '84 heads are better suited for porting than the newer heads (centerbolt) due to the open area around the intake valve. It's less shrouded around the valve, and will probably allow you to install an oversize 1.94 intake valve. However, dont install the big valve unless you commit to doing some extensive porting to the intake tract to take advantage of the bigger valve.
