Wanted: 9 or more people to go in with me on a run of custom Mahle NOS Pistons
Disclaimer to modorators:
None of our sponsors carry Mahle pistons and I am not employed by or endorsed by Mahle Motorsports. This is not an advertisement.
Ok, I need 9 other people to get a limited run of Mahle 383 flat-top nitrous pistons made. These will be for 6.00" connecting rods.
They make a piston currently but it is not suited for nitrous above 150 hp due to the top ringland distance and design.
I spoke with them at length about this and they said that they can make me a set of 8 as a custom set (and pay custom prices)
OR
If 80 are ordered, it no longer becomes a custom set.
Put it this way, we'd each be paying around $450 plus shipping per set and that includes their moly rings!
All of these would be for a 4.00-4.060 bore depending on your needs. 3.75" stroke, 6.00" rod, flat-top with 2 -5cc valve reliefs, and made to safely accomodate a 200-250 shot of nitrous.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Mahle. They've made pistons since the 20's and are a supplier for Corvette, Viper, Porsche, several exotics, dominate formula 1, are quickly becoming popular with US circletrack teams.
They have just recently started to progressively market to the US aftermarket and really have some great advantages (cost and design) over the other high end pistons I've compared them to.
Again, this is not an advertisement. I just need a set of these pistons and the only way to get them affordably is by getting some other people to go with me.
