I am looking for pistons that will support 650 HP that are not tremendously exspensive. I am building a 406/408 CID engine depending on what the shop can do for the bores. But I have been looking around on ebay and a few other places and have found a bunch of Hypereutectic pistons or forged pistons that are domed.

Problem is that this is a street motor so I am looking to keep the CR under 10.5:1. So these domes aint gonna work. I am leary of going with hyp. over 450 HP.

what do you guys think? any recommendations?
(4.155/4.165 x 3.75 w/ 5.7 rods)
Thanks.

First of all I didn't say cheap. And I am not ignorant so I know "cheap and 650 HP don't belong in the same sentence."

I asked for pistons that aren't "tremendously" exspensive. I have built for moderate HP before but am now looking for a stronger bottom end. I am only looking for 400-430 HP. But I know that I may want to add a bit later. Therefore, I want a bottom end capable of 650 HP.

Budget is not the main concern but if you can save money buying something of the same or similar specs and capability and not pay more for it, why wouldn't you?

Thank you to 85TransAM406 for an actual answer to the question. I thought we were here to share information, not bust peoples chops. Moderators in particular.
