What is the highest lift cam and spring safe for press in studs?

Ok guys, I did a search and found mixed opinions.

I want to replace the cam and springs on my stock L98 (which is carbed now so no worry about the computer).

What would be the max lift you guys would think is safe with the press in rocker studs? Using 1.5 rr's or stock rockers.

What about springs? I will be using stock 1.250 dia springs. Would spring rated up to .550 lift be ok, or should I stay closer to .510 ?

I would not recommend running any 1.25" spring past .500", no matter what the spring vendor claims; unless they offer you a warranty on your cam (which they don't).

i had a stock lg4 pull a rocker stud. anything i build from here on out is going to have screw-in studs.

probably a little overkill, but it makes me feel better.

I may end up pulling the heads anyway and just go with bigger springs and screw in studs.

I was just thinking about just a mild cam bigger than stock though.

What is the specs on the stock 92 L98 cam? what kind of lift does it have?

Also, since I am carbed now, would a 110 lobe seperation be best to run?
