i dont know where anyhtign is on car new to v8's but i was wondering where the egr valve was? and o ya im useing my friends name to psot this for help o ya its a 85 carbed trans am

 

Look on the passenger side of the motor, over your exhaust manifold and next to your ignition coil. You'll see a round saucer-looking thing, looks like a UFO. That's your EGR. You should have the vacuum type. The later modeled fuel injected F-bodies got a digital EGR that's a lot easier to swap but a lot more expensive as well.
