Not charging
All right,, My car battery went dead while driving... The car is not charging because I had the battery recharged and it bearly got me home before it went dead again.. if you disconnect the battery while the car is running it will turn off,,,what can it be? Generator, alternator, regulator.. Need some advice.. How do I check this ?

Ya, It sounds as if der alternator ist KAPUT! Jawohl Mein Herr!! Loved that Autobahn cruising before they implemented their new speed laws. 3 years at Bitburg and 2 at Norvenich. Also loved the food, the wine, the food, the beer, the food.

What autobahn laws ??,,, it's still unlimited except in built up areas.. And I have NO tickets to proof this 
I thought the alternator,, I just don't want to order an alternator from the states and find out that it was something else..

This was back in the earlier "70's when it was drive as fast as you dare only stay out of the way of the faster drivers or you're roadkill. Loved them days.
