84 camaro 305 5.0HO q-jet

what kind of GOOD mods can be done to this motor?
(if there is any)

 

Headers and exhaust to the rear bumper (although the HO from the cat on back is better than the typical 305).

Ported stock heads or Worlds. Valve springs, positive seal valve seals. 1.94" intake valves and screw-in rocker studs if you stick with the stockers.

Cam. Roller or roller tip rockers.

Ignition (coil & module).

Possibly secondary rods & hanger (depending upon what you've got).

That'll about cover it for an emissions-legal street driven combo.

What tranny and gears do you have?

I have the same engine in my car. I put a slightly larger cam in it, headers, exhaust all the way back( no cat , that will slow you down but you need the thing for emissions which sucks) I have a turbo 350 tranny behind it with stock gears and she is pretty quick. Like five7kid said heads, and different gear ratio will help.
