SHIFT KIT ?
I RECENTLY INSTALLED A B&M SHIFT KIT. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS ANY WAY TO TONE DOWN THE FIRMNESS OF THE SHIFT WITHOUT SACRIFICING PERFORMANCE

I've alwaays heard bad things about the B&M shift kits. If you set it up as stage 2, that means you removed all the accumulator springs resulting in really harsh shifts. I've heard everything from cracked forward drums input/output shafts, even cracked cases. Basically the shift is to damn harsh for the internal components of the stock 700R4.
What I'd like to know is, I presume you wanted firmer shifts so you installed a shift kit, now you want to tone it down? I don't really see the logic there. Why didn't you just leave the tranny alone in the first place? Not trying to be rude, just curious.

Did you do anything to the pressure regulator or boost valves at all when you installed the kit. If so high line pressure could be causing your problem. If you removed any accumulator springs that would also contribute to harsh shifting. Many shift programming kits include stiffer springs in lieu of total removal. So basically what did you put into/take out or modify in your tranny? Also there is a transmission forum on this site.
