Electric fan idea

I'm going to install an electric fan in the T-top car. Since the computer doesn't work I was thinking about doing this.....what if I ran the switch for the relay to the 140* head temp (metal temp) switch that is used for the 'ram-air' system. I was told that the stock fan switch runs on a low voltage that I couldn't simulate (even though lots of the misc. unplugged wires read about 1.5 volts (if I remember correctly). I'd rather not run a switch into my car because I don't want someone to forget to turn it on if they drive my car. Thanks!
