48 knock?!

I know knocks are bad, and im pretty sure you get rid of them by running higher octane fuel. I just started datalogging today because i want to at least have a basic understanding of all these values before the chip burning hardware comes this christmas. Well to my dismay winaldl told me i had a max knock count of 48, mind you this was just sitting in my driveway revving the engine a little.

Is this bad? am i reading something wrong? what should i do?
thanks already,
-chuck

replace the knock sensor first off. i was suprised how much false knock i was getting when i replaced mine. do you have an aftermarket chip? even if you haven't put one in, double check it!

Where is the knock sensor? Come to think of it I am running w/o a muffler right now. Do you think that could cause 'false knock'? how much are new ones?
