Do I have to go underneath and drop the gas tank? where is it exactly? or is there a way to access it from my hatchback area? can i buy a better fuel pump that will give me more horsepower or are they all the same? i need this changed soon so please tell me the steps i need to do in order to change it, thanks again guys

yep it's in the gas tank, you have to drop the rear and the exhaulst to get the tank out.

WHOA HOLD ON! Ede it's an 82 Camaro! The fuel pump is on the passenger side of the engine block unless it's CrossFire. I don't know where the Crossfire pumps are but he could have an L69 which has the fuel pump on the engine block.

I just pulled the gas tank and pump on my 88 Iroc last nite. I am installing a 255ltr per hr. Walbro pump. I don't know how much pressure you need for a crossfire setup, but I bet Auto performance engineering can help you. I paid 98$ shipped for my pump which is ALOT cheaper then all the other places I checked. The number there is (877)875-2091 toll free. The people are great to deal with and very knowledgable. I would recomend completely pulling the rear axle and the exhaust from behind the cat, it will make things much easier and you will not bend/damage things trying to remove the tank. Also be careful not to break the tack welds on the metal pump support. That stuff is delicate and you can cause some costly repairs if you dont take your time while removing the pump assembly!

If its a carbed engine, it should be on the lower right side of block, and its not too hard to replace so long as you can get under the car.
