What would you do??

The problem with my car (LO3) is still present. I found out that the fuel pump is definitely not the problem and I also changed the ignition module. No luck. It will not even start now. It is flooding. I open the throttle blades to look inside and I just see like a big pool of gas. Computer is not throwing any codes at all. It's been hooked up to scanners twice, both times nothing was wrong. Now what I am questioning is my ignition system and tps. I have no idea what the throttle positions sensor is, what it does, or even where it's located. Can someone please tell me all the components of the ignition system? Thanks in advance.

Not too familiar with TBI but it could be your injector died on you. Also check your fuel filter this may not be the problem to it flooding but it may help.

Soulbounder,
The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body. On my 1991 LO3 there are three wires Grey (5 volt reference),
Dark Blue (ecm input) and black (ground and to MAT sensor).

SB, I would shoot for a combo of things. For the overly rich mixture I would look to the CTS in the TBI units. As far as the no-start, well, I don't think I saw any previous post, so throw out some more info on the problems and we'll see if some of us can help.

Did you try the new O2 sensor? If it is bad, it will also give you a "too rich" condition in the computer, I did change mine out and the car is back to normal... just trying to help.....also , check to see if you fried your cat...

Still sounds like your injector o-rings are bad to me. Having an intake plenum full of gas has nothing to do with your computer or sensors. Another thing you can get with a rebuild kit for your TBI is a new fuel pressure regulator diaphragm. If it's ruptured or has a tear in it, your fuel pressure will go up and down. I found some grit from corrosion in my pressure regulator and the passages when I tore it apart, which can clog up things and also affect fuel pressure. I had already replaced my 02 sensor, MAP sensor, coolant temp sensor, and fuel pump before I looked at the throttle body itself a little closer. I also decided to check the adjustment of the TPS, and the cheap *** factory screws just broke off when I attemted to loosen them, so I had to pay a machine shop a small fortune to drill them out. What really killed me is those stupid little screws are a French metric thread! I said the hell with that, and the hell with GM having to "special order" new ones for a ridiculous amount. I just tapped the holes to standard 10/32 machine thread. Needless to say, I burned a nice sized hole in my back pocket before I found the problem with mine!

Ok, I changed the TPS this morning because my dad really thought that was the problem. I decided not to argue. That's not the problem though. I managed to start my car this morning. It was running really rough. I had the air cleaner assembly off and I could hear this very loud sucking/hissing sound. I am really trying to figure out what that is. I am thinking it has something to do with the injectors. After about 7 minutes of letting the car run, the sound just disappeared and the car was idling smoothly. I turned off the car and tried to crank it again and it wouldn't start. I think I will start looking into the TB itself now. Thanks. I'll keep you informed.
