Why dont you spend the extra 15 minutes per head and remove the studs as well? The studs do that an allen head on the top to remove them

In my opinion, why have the studs if you have to remove them any way to remove the head. Kinda defeats the purpose, doesnt it?

if you REALLY want to get into it, disconnect the exhaust, watch the lines, pull ONE engine mount bolt, tilt the entire motor enough that you can lift one head up and out...

then do the same for the other side...

havent tried it, but it could work...
back in a auto shop class, we had a guy snap off a headbolt into the block.... it was the lower drivers side small one...

so of course you cant get at it... brake booster and all.... i had to drill and easy out it.... i ended up tilting the entire friggin engine that way until i could put a drill straight on the bolt... heh...

im probly going to use studs on my new motor.

hopefully i wont pull the heads off often enough to care.
