HELP! Gasoline in the crankcase

To make a long story short(full story at the following link) https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...80#post1572980

I have about 1/2 to a full gallon of gasoline that was forced into the engine's crankase (the engine was not run but was turned over several times). I don't have an engine oil priming tool and wanted to know was there anything else i could do before adding new oil and cranking the car? Would it be possible to disconnect all coil wires, remove spark plugs, fill with new oil, crank the engine for several minutes and change the oil again?

Thanks!

First off, you never want to just crank an engine for "several minutes." Cranking an engine for more than 15 seconds at a time will kill a starter in no time flat, not to mention your battery. Secondly, you don't want to crank an engine with the sparkplugs pulled, otherwise you will spray gasoline EVERYWHERE, which isn't fun. If I were in your place and had a bunch of gas in the engine, make sure it's good and drained, just fill it up with standard 10-30 oil, run it for a minute or two, drain it out, change the filter, refil, run it for 5 minutes, drain and replace filter, and fill her up with the good stuff and be on your way. Should take care of flushing everything out no problem, this was the same thing I did when I got coolant in the engine. Goodluck.

This happened to me too. I drained it refilled the crank case with oil and replaced the filter. If you have a good operating pcv system, the left over tiny bit of gas left will eventually evaporate and be picked up by the carb and burned off. You really dont have to drain the case a second time unless you really want to spend the money to do it. Did you ever find the source of fuel. Usually its a bad mechanical fuel pump. If its carbed it could be a faulty needle valve too.
