N.A.D.A. guide - How much are our cars worth wholesale?
Valid question seeing I'm gonna go to a dealers auction. Dont wanna over bid. What does NADA say about '89 or '90 RS's?

Basically, our cars are worth... nothing. At best they are worth what somebody else is willing to pay.
The cars you're asking about are over 10 years old now, so if they have average mileage on them, they're beyond their generally accepted useful life. Now you and I both know that there's still an awful lot of useful life left in some of them, but as far as banks are concerned (which is who the yellow "Blue Book" is written for) they're already used up. Besides, they are so old now, that their condition varies enormously from one to the next, so even if there was a "value" in the "Blue Book", it probably wouldn't be meaningful for the one(s) at the auction(s) you're going to.
My personal guess is that a 89 or 90 RS should be worth somewhere in the $1500-4000 range, depending on whether it's a 6 or 8, conv or HT, mileage, etc. Some may be worth as little as $200.
If it's a really pretty car, I'd start at somewhere like $1500 and stop at $3500. It would have to be mint to be over $3000 though. If it's a 6 I'd pass and wait for an IROC or a GTA or something really nice to show up next week. The easiest way to get scammed at an auction is to get in a hurry to buy the one you see right now. Be prepared to buy a whole lot of cars from some salvage or impound lot to get the one that you want, and then sell the rest next week.
