The only other access would be through the trunk. If you have a junkyard nearby, maybe you can practice by cutting the trunk off the same car, this way you will know where exactly to do the cut on your car. Extreme caution should be used when cutting since you may have fumes from the gas present. Hope this helps.

Pull up the carpet in the back luggage area.

Cut an access hole(door flap) in the rear compartment right over the fuel tank. Look under the car to see where the fuel lines go to the tank so you'll see where the tank pickup is located.

When your done, bend the flap of metal back down and attach with some sheet metal screws and small taps of sheet metal. then, seam seal up the gaps.

i am about to undergo the same peoject, there is no way i am going to cut a hole in MY car, sounds like a stupid (and possibly dangerouse idea) no wonder somone would get flamed for doing that.

deadtrend1, not saying you are dumb or anything, i mean your still alive so you must not have done anything to bad. just not planning to do that myself.

Kass, i would just suck it up and do it the hard way like i am planning to do.

by the way, you can get a new fuel pump for 70.33 at GMPARTSDIRECT.com that includes shipping! gm charges 117.22
part number is 25116162.

and there seems to be some debate as to weather or not you neede to get the "pulsator" with that. see the POLL on the subject by clicking the word poll. i am trying to get input on that but no one is biting.

i would also suggest against cutting a hole.

it's not as hard as it seems. make sure you empty as much of it as possible for obvious reasons. and also try to have someone around to help you lift it when it's time to put it back in.

and here's a dumb q,,,,what is the pulsator??
