roller cam conversion

roller cam conversion
What do I need to do this? I can't find any sorrt of kit. I rounded off a lobe on my cam and I want to forget hydrolic and go roller, I have heard of a kit for it but where is it?

Go to www.compcams. com Enter the part number of the cam your looking at, such as 12-432-8, and it will then bring up the same 12-432-8 part number with different prefixs in front like CL,Kor SK. Those are your kit options for the cam.

u have desktop dyno underestimation in ur sig.. desktop dyno tends to overestimate not under... i'd say those numbers are a little high for that combo and more likely flywheel horsepower and not rwhp or you'd be at almost 400 hp at the flywheel.. that would be amazing for truck heads..

I always thought that too... but assumeing you dont know what compression ratio I'm running... since I failed to put that in my profile, you have no basis for this arguement, I did however take some percentage (i.e. UNDERESTIMATE), which I found in these boards somewhere, of the output power desktop dyno stated, yes it is estimated... but right now im just tryin to figure out what im going to do about the lobe I just shaved off my cam. So I would appreciate serious responces please.

You have stock truck swirl-port heads, if you are accurate about what your motor actually is. Therefore, you don't have 400 HP, or anywhere close; about 300 HP is all those heads will flow. You basically have a stock truck motor with headers & cam, and a pretty mild cam at that.
Your HP estimate is erroneous. I'd be real surprised if your combo will see the high side of 275 flywheel HP, which would end up at about 225 RW HP.
Apart from that, you need a roller cam; a set of the type of roller lifters, with link bars, that all the rest of us had been building roller motors with for all the years we've been building them before the factory hipped up to the notion and sodomized it; a cam button; and push rods of the correct length to go with whatever lifters you end up with (most likely will be about .400" shorter than what you have now). This will all set you back about $700.
You'll get a whole lot more bang for your buck by getting rid of the garbage heads and putting something that flows on there instead.

yeah sorry for calling
on ur claim, i know it was completely off topic i just thought that it was so outragious that i'd point it out... those heads make better wheel chucks, i gave mine away, i wouldnt even have wasted the time putting any work into em and got a cheap set of 305 heads and worked with em.. i was nice enough to say maybe at the flywheel with those numbers if you did something amazing to those heads that no one else knows about, but short of that i cant see it.. and you said i have no idea what comp ratio your running.. it basically says it in your sig without posting it.. stock suburban engine stock heads with a mild cam..stock maybe?

I think converting to a roller cam should be the last thing on your mind at the moment. Cams just don't magically wipe out lobes, something is majorly wrong with your valvetrain and converting to a roller cam isn't going to fix it for long.
Also, sorry to get off topic like the rest but 14.7 @ 91mph is about 211hp assuming a 3400lb car
