Oxygen sensors, how different are they?
My old O2 sensor was way carbonated because my new carb's jets were too rich (#72). So I go to the Parts America and the guy asks for my VIN code... WTF! I tell him H... or did I say G... hell it isn't even the same 305 that cam stock anyways ( it's a 350 now).
Well, needless to say, it doesn't appear to be working. I say this because the only reason I have the O2 sensor is for my air/fuel gauge (no computer any more). I am hesitant to spend another $20 for another O2 sensor for whatever engine I have for it not to work. What does it matter what my engine code is? I have heard of bad O2 sensors out of the box, do I have to et this $20 sensor?

1984 z28 w/ a 357 cu in. monster engine which is looking like the posterchild for Edelbrock with the exception of the Holley 750vac... all the suspension stuff... 9-bolt posi disk is in...

Bio,
Bosch P/N 12014. It's a zirconia sensing element, like just about every other GM sensor out there.
The counter-boy might have been asking since there were a couple of different threads and lead lengths in those earlier days of sensors. If your's isn't working, check the grounding of the exhaust system and other circuit wiring.

I cannot remember if my last one was Delco and this is a Bosche or vise versa. That is what I figured about the thread length and all... does it really matter if it does screw in OK? It is the single wire kind and it is going into my TES header, so is that the same P/N you listed?
Thanks.
Thanks.
