Just bought a 91 Firebird, and I had a prob yesterday.... Car would not start at all....Would not turn over, but lights were fine (not a battery prob). Checked starter, which looked good. After 15/20 mins, tried to start it and she started right up...Now, I was on empty, and when I got gas and filled her up, I shut off ignition which is when I couldn't re-start... Could it have been a fuel pump prob, or a possible Vats key prob? Starts fine now, no other probs...

Other issue is the pass side power window is slow, and will only go up/down slighty until motor times out for about 20 secs.... Guy said I just need to get the window sprayed/greased/treated to allieviate problem.... Is this BS, true, or do I need a new window motor.

my driver side window used to be *** slow, I changed the switch and now its faster than my passenger window. You might need a motor, but try the switch first its a $13 part from a chevy dealer.

 

first off, if the car wouldnt start, or turn over at all, and it cranked right up 15 mins later, its vats, no doubt, secondly, its your motor, and those are a bitch to replace.....ive done mine and never wanna do them again...EVER....it ranks up there with the annoyance of a header install, orporting and polishing...or changing your tranny filter when gm didnt see a need to put a F$#%ING drain plug in it --flips gm off for that--

 

Sounds like a problem with the contacts in the ignition lock cylinder or a worn key, both related to the VATS. As for the window, first clean it real good and then try it. Sometimes the felt wiper will get dirty and cause the motor to slow down,
