things i notice, why?

this has been drivein me up the wall, when i am at a stop and i floor it (right to the ground) it feels like my car goes slower then it would if i went like 90% to the floor, or gradualy went to the floor. and if i have it to the floor and let off on the gas the car goes faster. y does it do this? its almost like something is trying to catch up, that the only way i could explain it. is this normal? also this might sound really stupid but when i floor it my car does not sound like i am flooring it, only when i drop to second from a roll, when i am almost at 3000rpm and higher were my car seems to make all its power, anything below that for some resion to me dont sound right (like some is trying to catch up)

I know what you mean exactly. I have had the same exact issue with my Q-jet from day one, but it is much worse now with the 355 in there. Now it falls flat on it's nose. If I figure it out, i'll let ya know! I don't want to put too much time or $$$ into fixing it, as I'm going to EFI when I get all my ducks in a row.

This may be a question more suited to the carb board though.

Sorry I'm not of any help, just wanted to let you know you're not the only one!

my uninmormed guess is the vacuum signal is going atmosperic or close to it and it takes a second or two for it to recover

I think I will post my problem on the carb board. It seems after re-reading, that my problem is a bit different, but it still may be the same solution????

As for the Vac signal, using a mechanical gauge, it was not going atmospheric. My car will pull hard, then fall off. If I lift to about 75% throttle, then get back to WOT, it pulls hard then falls back off.... I will try the carb board, maybe it will click right away for someone there.....

You may need to tune your secondary throttles by changing the secondary diaphragm return spring.
