I figure that I need to replace the coolant temp. sending unit as my gauge gas gone haywire but I can't find the thing. Haynes manual says that its on the front of the drivers side cylinder head but I don't see it. I figure the guy who had the car before me moved it. What color are the wires leading to it? I think I will be able to find it this way.

It's right in front of the #5 spark plug. It should have a white cover on it. The only other thing down there should be the spark plug wires themselves and the o2 sensor. I think one wire running to the temp sensor is green.

That's right - #1 is the farthest plug forward on the drivers' side (in case you don't know), then the next is 3, next 5, then 7. It's right in front of the #3 not 5
