24. Circuit fault in vehicle speed sensor
My speedometer went out today after I put a new radiator cap on (LOL!!), and everyonce in a while when I'm on the freeway it will work, but will bounce around alot. otherwise, it stays at O.
I checked my codes, and I got a code 24. Circuit fault in vehicle speed sensor.
Does this mean that the sensor just needs to be replaced? or is it something more major? and, how difficult is it to replace the sensor? And... is there any reason this went out when I put a new radiator cap on!? lol! that sounds so stupid, I can't imagine how they are linked together. It must just be coincidence?
This is on an 86 Iroc.
Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, I'd replace it. It probably doesnt cost too much. As to where it's located....can't say for SURE but I believe it's in the tailshaft somewhere. Get a manual and look it up.
Should be an easy swap...just a very sloppy one. You'll probably leak tranny fluid everywhere.
And the rad cap thing...yeah, coincidence. But a very funny one! Those damn aftermarket radiator caps...they don't make them like they used to. :lala:
