Cleaning K&N filters
I just bought a Iroc-Z convertible and it is equipped with k&n's. Unfortuately, after traveling through OK bringing it home in a bad snowstorm, they got clogged with salt, sand, and just some plain bad stuff. How do I go about cleaning them. I know there are the K&N oils, but do those come with instructions? If someone could tell me how to go about cleaning them or lead me to a Tech Article, I'd sure appriciate it.

Don't have the K & N supplies in front of me so this is from memory. You should use air filter cleaner and air filter oil (K & N makes some, so does AMSOIL, I assume a few others do as well). Liberally spray the cleaner, wait 10 minutes and then wash with water in the REVERSE direction of the air flow. After the filter dries completely coat liberally with the air filter oil. The cleaner and oil will have directions on them. Summit, Jegs, etc. sells small cans or larger cans. I would assume some local parts and/or performance stores would carry them.

Yep, get the K&N filter cleaning kit. Its about $10 and should be right next to the K&N filters in your auto parts store. Directions are in the box.
