87-92 firebird headlight wiring diagram

Well the car is a 1990 Firebird but with a 91-2 headlight harness (the one with fog lights. I converted the car to the newer styling.)

The passenger side headlight works just like as it should. Flips up and down. The drivers side doesn't. Nor did it before I swapped everything over. I know that the 91-92 headlight harness and relay is good along with the motors cause it worked in the car that it came out of.

So I just need the wiring diagrams for anything that has to do with the headlights and making them flip up and down.

Thanks!

Chances are you have a relay or headlight door motor/actuator problem. This may help:

Thanks Vader!

The problem was that the one of the two power wires going to the relay on the fire wall wasn't getting any power. So I jumped them together for the time being. Working so far..

Heres another diagram for ya.

Re: 87-92 firebird headlight wiring diagram

Hey guys, I’m sure I won’t have much luck 16 years after this thread with getting replies but worth a try... I have an 89 firebird and the headlights will go up but won’t go back down... bought a new module thinking that was the issue but it was not. And all of the wiring from the firewall to the module is good, along with all of the wires from the module to the headlight motors. Can anyone give me some insight as to what the problem might be as to why they won’t go back down? Thanks, Jeremy

Both headlamp fuses need to be intact. The module needs to get 12V at both those inputs.

The end switch in each headlight motor needs to close the NC contacts to permit the motors to lower.

If you manually turn the lamp ***** and lower the motors, do they raise the lamps again?

If I manually close them, yes they do raise back up when I turn the lights back on. What is the end switch in the motor?
