Spun bearing noise

Would i notice right away if i spun a bearing. As im driveability and performance?

My car makes a god awful knocking sound and i didnt have the time to find track it down myself, so i took it to the dealer, and i hope its something stupid.

The only problem was the damn noise. Nothing else changed. Timing chain?

A spun bearing makes a loud knocking noise, and when it siezes to the crank, it makes a really horrendus squealing noise as the bearing spins inside of the cap/journal. If the bearing is just shot, you can usually just put bearings or crank kit in. If the bearing has actually "spun", then usually its time for a short block.

Cracked flex plates make a horrendous knocking sound but affect little else (at least until they break clean in two!) If you have a spun bearing, you will almost always see a radical drop in oil pressure due to the massive internal leak from the pressurized system that the bearing clearance will create. If your oil pressure hasn't changed, and I mean not at all, then your bottom end is OK and the problem lies elsewhere.
