Knock Knock

Long story short, I put my crane gold 1.6 roller rockers on the maro. Drove it 4 a while and it started knocking pretty bad, drove it home took the valve covers off and one rocker slipped off the spring. Not all the way tho just so the roller part wasnt on the spring anymore but the aluminum gold colored part of the rocker still was. So put it back on started the car, still knocks pretty bad. My guess, it pushed the valve down 2 far and the piston hit it and i have a bent valve. Thats just a guess tho anybody have any ideas? This blows

might be a good guess. take the rocker off the suspect valve and start the engine. if that valve is bent the noise will be gone since the valve won't be moving.

Actually, from what you described, it couldn't have pushed it down too far...it would have actually had less lift since the roller part is what gives it the extra lift.

I have no clue what else could be causing the knock tough.

No, like if you look at a roller rocker, there are 2 prongs that hold the roller part onto the rocker. On of the prongs was on the valve spring which is further down than the actually roller since they are self aligning (****ers didnt do the job) ill look today. Maybe it fixed itself over night lol....waaaa

I know this is way late lol but I just stumbled accross this thread again because I really do have a bent valve now, pulled the heat and 2 exaust valves arent seated. Didnt even notice but since I broke the crank in my 305 im about to get a 350 bottom end and i pulled my heads, cam, intake off to throw on the new bottom end. I dont remember exactly what was wrong the first time I think i might not have put the lock tyte nuts in on the rockers but I dont remember it was a while ago lol anywayz heres the pick of what it looked like before i took everything apart
