alright i have this major problem my tach dies battery gauge and oil pressure gauge dies this al happenswhen i turn my headlights on and thegauge imlumination is on if i dim the gauges itworksagain but i went overabumblast night and now tach doesn't work at all andneither does the battery gauge and my choke light is on all the time and gets brighter when i turn my custom fog lights on i have tired taking my fog lights off but that didn't help engin runs fine andidels nice even revsup good can't figure this out would begreatly apretciated if anyone couldhelp me out

what wires if any at all did u tap into?
sounds like my old problem, i had a bad ground and when i turned my turn signals on, they both lit up, i turned on my headlights and that would kill all power... ground wire in the back of the truck had rust all over it.
if u tapped into the ground wire of some sort, run a fresh ground somewhere other than it, if you tapped into any power feeds, try taking them off and seeing if the problem is present still

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
There is either a bad ground connection to your cluster, or one of the circuit 'traces' on the backside of the cluster is broken...it sounds more like the latter.
Below is how I repaired the cluster from my Z28. Not pretty, but it works.
