need help, exhaust bolt location.... all welcome
Forgot to add................ It is an 89 TPI 5.0.
I am making great strides, but now don't know how the bolts for my exhaust go in. I have the chilton, but apparently the factory did things different than the book. I have alot of studs, and like 4 bolts......
I know it's important about the sizes too. Lastly, I look to get about 5-7 threads into the head, Is this enough? I am stressing and need to get it back together
thanks shawn.

They should go in at least about 1/2 inch or so.
I get the feeling you're trying to install them through the manifolds?...don't, remove the manifolds install the studs and tighten (should chase the holes with a tap first) then slide the manifold over the studs.
When installing them, double nut and tighten them in..i/e run one nut down on the portion of the stud that is "out of the head", then run another nut down against the first nut..take two wrenches and tighten the nuts together...then when you install the stud, turn the last nut you installed..when it's tight in the head you take the two wreches and break the nuts apart and unscrew the nuts.
FWIW, I'd use new studs too.
Here comes the fun part, then manifold will tend to "shrink" in when removed and the holes don't want to line up with the studs.
When this occurs, you need to spread the manifold some, most discount AP stores have the exhaust spreaders, some may rent them to you. Simple to use once you see it, spread just enough to line the holes up and get the manifold on.
