oil everywhere!
Yesterday I overheated my engine when a heater hose blew. the temp gauge read 220F
but about 2 1/2 gallons was lost.
Now today after starting the motor and letting it run i backed it out only to find a huge puddle of oil! i put it up on jackstands and oil pisses out in a steady stream when the engine is running. as soon as i shut it off the oil stops leaking.
the oil seems to be seeping out from between the block and the bellhousing.
Im thinking rear crank seal or cranked block?
is it possible it could be something less serious??
ack!!!

oil sender, above oil filter and/or next to the distributor. split oil filter, or oil plug came out. lot of things might of happened, you need to clean it up and start looking.

Pulled out the sender, its wasnt leaking, the oil filter isnt leaking either, the leak is coming from above the filter seeming like from the sender, but lower, from the head??
valve covers arent leaking, the back of the manifold is dry.
help!
