Linkbar..aka "retro-fit" roller lifters
Anyone know of import/discount link bar knockoff lifters?
reason I ask is I have a set that I was assured were from a "namebrand" manufacturer, but no ID on them, just curious if anyone knows who may make a set or copy/clone a set of Comp/Crane/etc. ?????????
I'm gonna run the darn things regardless, they seem to be fne, but it's one of thse "gotta know" things...ya know??

Good idea, I tried, but can't seem to get my $29.99 digi-camera to work,...I tell ya.
Guess I'll have to dig into my Nikon employee discount and buy a camera that works.

You CAN USE Solid roller lifters on a Hyd. Roller cam. You just run a tight Lash and it can be done.
Obviouselly not the best idea in the world, but it CAN be done, successfully and without problems.

soild cams ramp up to takeup the valve lash then climb steeply....
hyd cams are ment to have the last already taken up.. so it just starts going up...
very harsh on valvetrain components. and even with poly locks, that abuse wont hold a lash.
how do i know? because like i mentioned before, thats how i got these lifters.. a friend of mine got that very same BAD advice.

Lets see if this will work...this is pic of the Comp 985's, mine look identical, except the machined part of the lifters that appear dark on Comps site, are still "lifter" color on mine...could be the pic, not sure.
I guess question is the ones I have are new/unused, look almost identical to Comps, and wonder if I should take a chance on them?

Bump.
Mr Dude, or anyone else who has seen comp's like the ones pictured.
Could you look at the jpg, and compare to your Comps...if they're the same style as pictured, are yours black in the middel and top, or machined only...i/e same as the rest of the body?
Thanks.

The pic posted is a Comp lifter, from Comps site...sorry for the confusion.
Mine look exactly the same, except they're not black in the middle of the body, nor on top...my linkbar is black though.
I'm just trying to ID'em to see what I have.

I dunno if this helps or not

ALL Comp lifters have the part number laser(?) etched into the dark area. I read it somewhere one there site, and one look at a hydraulic flat tappet I have proved the same.
CAT lists hydraulic roller lifters on their web site for $155 for retrofit and $13? for OEM roller. I called them today and they wont be available for a few months.....
I searched EBAY for (CAT,C.A.T.) (roller, lifter) and came up empty for hydraulic roller lifters.
