Rear End swap; 3:08 drum to 3:42 disc?

I have the opportunity to replace my sad 3:08 open rear with drums over to a 3:42 posi with discs. Can this be done easily? Will all the same lines work for me? By the way it's an '85 to '85 swap. Please advise

should be a straight forward swap. Be sure to get the e-brake cables for the disc rear as this is the only thing that should be different.

You will need the master cylinder and proportioning valve for the 85 disc brake setup as well, as it is different than the drum setup.

The parts car I am getting the rear from had discs on it. The master cylinder is still there. Do I need the whole thing? Is that swap very difficult? Please advise. Thanks!

Thank you Kevin. I must have dosed off at the keyboard.

Rusty, just to be on the safe side you may want to just get the master cyl./brake booster assembly along with the proportioning valve. But at least get the master and proportioning valve. Should be two bolts holding the master on and remove the brake lines and that's it.
