heads swap question
heads swap question
I think one of my heads might be cracked, but won't know until later, and figured that these would be better than the stock ones.
Was looking on ebay for replacement heads and came across these, but I do not know a lot about what will fit and what not.

would there be any issue if I were to just replace my current heads with these? I thought I saw somewhere that I was not supposed to change to LT1 heads because they are allum. but with these they are cast iron.
thanks in advance.

Here's the details from www.mortec.com/castnum.htm
10125320...94-96...350..........Gen.II LT1, cast iron version, used
on "9C1" Police package, Impala SS,
Cadillac Fleetwood, Buick Roadmaster
reverse flow cooling
They're reverse flow heads. Meaning the coolant flow from the top of the engine to the bottom, then to the radiator.
The LT1 and LT4 engines are both that way, and are called Gen II blocks. The one produced from 1956 are called Gen I.
You have a Gen I block in your car. Unless you heavily modify the Gen II heads, they won't work with a Gen I block.
