Yep, im afraid your car is going to explode. No its fine. From the fisrt one it looks like maybe some oil consumption at high rpms but nothing to worry about yet. The black smoke is jsut incompletly burned fuel.

are those just signs of old age, i mean its only giot 120k miles on it. That not too much but its getting close to time fro a rebuild. If i were to rebuld it it wouldn't do this anymore right?

I'm gonna get me a new engine somehow, deciding between a LT1 and a Vortec TPI. Bug problem it that the vortec TPi is completely maxed out at almost 360HP 420ft/lbs or torque. Only if i were to get a superchargewr could i reach high power ratings witht he extra air it will get. Its only gonna coast $2500 for the whole swap for that much power.

For a LT1 gonna cost a lot more but HP rating can go much higher. I can get 425hp with the LT4 conversion. Then there can be even more done to that. But gonna cost somewhere in the $4000 range to get me where i'd like it.

I think i'm gonna invent the first electric powered Supercharger/turbo. Instead oh havign the engine power it on the exhaust it will be powered by electric motor and adjusted by rpm levels. Taking no power from the engine while maximising power output. Think its a good idea? Would you buy it if i could get it produced?

Super/turbo chargers draw alot of power, probably around 35-45kw on a modest setup. Just for comparison, your alternator maxes out around 1.5kw. No matter what you use it still needs power from your motor to operate and theres not really much way around that.

As for teh engines condition, I wouldnt sweat about it too much. The smoke may be a sign that its time for a tuneup. Probably a good idea anyway if you havent tuned it up in awhile. Jsut keep up with the matenence and dont beat on it and youll probably get plenty more miles out of it.
