Need Advice!!!

hey guys
im new to the forum, but no a fair bit about these cars. I jsut purchased a 1985 Z28 wiht 83000 original clicks, its got a 305 and 700r4, i know these motors are dogs but i want to know what i should do. Evrybod and there dog puts 350's in these cars so i wanan be different, i got a 427 motor complete carb to pan wiht dyno'ed 513hp and 542 foot pounds of torqe its jsut got dished valves,forged pistons,stock crank and a 780 double pumper holley. this car is goin be driven about 3-4 times a week. What should i do?...i also have a set of 327 heads that are fresh....i know all mounts would have to be chenaged and i already have a 10 bolt 373 posi unit done for racing ready to go in.whats ur best opion remer im goin be daily driving this car or atleast 4 times a week. sorry for long post..thanks

Looks sweet!

Depends on how fast you're tryin' to go.

General rule of thumb is 12.0 secs in 1/4 takes 400hp. With the engine you have that's no problem.

You trans will need to be strengthened. I don't know how strong you race 10 bolt is, but most recommend going to a 12 bolt.

Add to that sub-frame connectors, steering rack brace, and some brakes and you should be set.

Wish I had it that easy...

A 427 would be killer in a third gen. You would need to do some frame and susupension work to make sure all that grunt doesn't twist you Z into a pretzel!!

I would go for the 427 if it were me. Even if you drive everyday or couple times a week, I think it would be fine. I don't know about the swap though, never put a big block into a third gen.
