A simple test to prove there is nothing wrong with the motors or wiring is to turn your A/C on. As long as the vehicle is not travelling faster than 37 mph, #1 Fan will turn on when the A/C is on.

Glen is right, as soon as the pressure builds up for the ac system, the fan should automatically come on. If this is the case, you have a bad Fan Switch. If it still doesn't come on, then most likely it's a bad relay, but might also be the motor(s).

There are many possible faults, on the dual fan cars. Best way to make sure the fan motors are good is jump them from the battery with homemade jumbers. Also check the relays, ground the green/white wires and see if the fans come on. Best thing to do is go the the electronics message board area and search for DUAL FANS. I went through this recently. Good luck

Ron,

How many fans are on your car? (Hint: There is a relay for each fan, since they are controlled independently.)

The fans are also protected by fusible links in the positive battery voltage supply line, just in case the relays are O.K. I would be surprised if BOTH relays failed at the same time, or both fan motors for that matter. Both fans, hovever, share a common grounding point, so don't overlook that possibility.

Good luck.

Ron, if you suspect the fasswitch, do this.....

Unplug it.

Take a jumper wire from the wire you just unplugged, to a clean, shiny ground location.

Turn the key on (no need to start the car) and the fans should come on.

This will be bypassing the fanswitch, and should turn the relays on, if possible, listen to them for a slight "click", if they click on, (and since both are new), I'd look inside the flat connector I told you about the other night, both fans grounds tie together in that connector....assuming you have 12volts at the fan motors...then you're looking for a bad ground.
