loss of electricity

Today as I was driving my car, it decided to poop out on me.

Backstory-I had been driving my car for about 50 miles this morning (round trip), and it was driving just fine; no rattles, shakes, taps, or other noises. Later in the day, after I had gone home and was leaving again, after about 6 miles i pulled into a target parking lot. I pulled into the parking space and put the car in park and pulled the e-brake and it died completely, with the key still in the on position in the ignition.

Heres the problem:
Now, My car wont do anything. I turn the key to the on position, and nothiong happens, NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By nothing, I mean the gauges do not even move like they normally do when ya turn the key. I have no power anything (windows, locks, radio, brake light, etc.). However, my headlights still turn on as well as my interior lights.

Has anyone ever heard of or faced this same situtation? If anyone has any ideas for remedies for this situation, I am all ears... Any help is greatly appreciated, and maybe this can help other people as well as myself. Thanks in advance guys and gals.

-Tim-

P.S.: My car is a 91 Camaro RS 305 TBI (LO3)

Everything that you mentioned died, goes thru the ign switch.
Assuming all the fuses are OK, I'd start checking for power to and from the ign switch.
There are fuseable links in the wiring near the starter that should be checked if there's no power to the ign switch.

If eng died the same instant the parking brake was applied, I'd open up the console and look for any wires being pinched.

One of the fusible links at the starter is blown.

Quite common actually.
