power steering problem
power steering problem
i bought a new power streeing pump 2 bays ago and i still don't have power assistance in steering the book said that i have air in the gearbox and to bleed it i did what it said and still no assistance i need to know of any other possable way to help get the air out if there is any and if not what else could be wrong that i could check . oh i also checked the lines and they are all functioning thanks for the help

To bleed it, you fill the pump with fluid, and turn the wheel all the way to one side; that will probably drain the pump; fill it back up; turn it all the way to the other side, which will probably drain it again; keep doing that until the reservior level doesn't go down any more. That will expel all the air from the system, but it may take a while since every time you let the reservoir run dry, the pump pumps more air into the gear, so the fluid turns to foam, and you may have to wait in between fillings to let all the air rise to the top. Is that what you did?

RB has the solution, bt it's a little easier (and there's a little less foam) if the front wheels are raised.
