Missing Part?

On an '85 305 4bbl what is the part that would be directly under the alternator? There is a bracket there and a hose, but nothing for the hose to go to.

sounds like you are refering to the smog pump..A.I.R. pump whatever name ya wanna call it....

If that is true then I passed emissions without it?! I wonder what else I can get rid of...

the car will still pass emissions, just not a visual check if they look.

They ran the mirror around the perimeter, and then they put a hose on each tailpipe and drove it on the rollers.
