Oil covered spark plug....

Just changed my spark plugs and found the ones on the passenger side all nice coloration but the drivers side a different story. All three look like they're burnt at the bottom of the ceramic part. The two outside ones had a little bit of oil in the threads and the middle one was covered in oil. What's the problem here? Valve seals or need rebuilt head? Car has 228,000 kms.

Sounds like a leaking valve cover or your pcv valve is no good. Oil gets on the plugs when its bad. Change the pcv and plugs and try again.
